Government Recalls

New York State Department of State
The Department of State licenses a variety of professions and occupations including the real estate and cosmetology industries, alarm installers, private investigators, and notaries.

Public Service Commission
The Public Service Commission regulates the state's electric, gas, steam, telecommunications, and water utilities. The Commission also oversees the cable industry.

The Better Business Bureau
The Long Island Better Business Bureau is a private, not-for-profit organization, which receives no government funding and is supported by responsible businesses and consumers. New York State Attorney General
The Office of the Attorney General enforces a variety of state laws aimed at protecting consumers, such as the Lemon Law for New and Used Cars, which rovides a legal remedy for consumers who are buyers or lessees of new cars and certain used cars that turn out to be lemons.
