Suffolk County Encourages Residents to Stay at the Beach
(Shirley, NY-June 20, 2012) Suffolk County Executive Steven Bellone announced today that lifeguard hours will be extended at Smith Point County Park in Shirley until 7:00 pm beginning today (6/20) through Friday (6/22) to offer relief to Suffolk County residents from the anticipated high temperatures.
“Lifeguards are usually on duty until 5:30 pm, said Bellone, “but with temperatures expected in the 90’s, we are anticipating that residents will want to stay at the beach to escape the heat.”
