The Suffolk County Department of Health Services often receives inquiries from the public and the media about a variety of diseases. Physicians, hospitals, and the public may report suspected communicable disease cases or call with questions related to disease to staff within the Bureau of Epidemiology and Disease Control.  Clinical staff can be reached at (631) 854-0333 during business hours and for after-hours emergencies at (631) 852-4820 Frequently asked questions concern West Nile virus, Lyme Disease, MRSA, pertussis and Tuberculosis.
