Mosquito and Tick Control / Wetland Restoration

The Suffolk County Department of Public Works, Division of Vector Control, is responsible for controlling mosquitoes, ticks and other arthropod infestations that are of public health importance. This work is performed under the authority of the New York State Public Health Law - Article 15, Sections 1500, 1501 and 1502, Suffolk County Local Law - Number 16 and the Suffolk County Charter - Section 8.

Programs and Services

Mosquito Control Request

Suffolk County Residents can request mosquito control and/or notify of a mosquito issue.

No Spray Law Registry

Suffolk County has adopted a new law creating a "no-spray" registry for people who do not want their property subject to adult mosquito control (aerosol and fog applications)

Scheduled Mosquito Spraying

Our mosquito spraying schedule is updated daily with information regarding where adult mosquito control spraying will occur.

Annual Vector/ Mosquito Control Plan of Work

The division meets its responsibilities in consultation with the Suffolk County Department of Health Services (SCDHA) and appropriate federal state and local agencies.
