Full Time (35 hours weekly) / One - 19 week assignment per calendar year / Paid Bi - weekly / Available Shifts Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm and/or 8:30am - 4:30pm

Qualifications

One (1) year of experience in a position that involves substantial public contact, in a public or private social service agency.  Applicant must have graduated from a standard senior high school or possess a high school equivalency.

NOTE: Additional education from a NYS or regionally accredited college or university can be substituted for experience on a year - for - year basis.  Thirty (30) credits equal 1 year.

Responsibilities Assist Suffolk county residents in applying for Energy related Social Service programs.  Conduct in person and telephone interviews; Conduct home visits as needed for homebound individuals with emergency needs, to determine eligibility for Energy related benefits (applicant must use their own vehicle with mileage reimbursement available); Complete forms, organize files, input and retrieve data from computer programs; perform related duties as required.
Special Requirements At the time of appointment and throughout employment in this title, employee must possess a valid NYS driver's license and must demonstrate their ability to meet the transportation needs of this job.
Note Positions are available for 19 week assignment.  Positions are filled on a continuous year round basis but may not be available at the time you want to apply.  If you file an application and there are positions available at that time, you may be contacted for an interview.  There are no benefits with these positions except eligibility for the NYS Retirement System.
