First-Ever Law Enforcement Patch to be Unveiled at Open House

YAPHANK, NY-- Sheriff Vincent F. DeMarco will be joined by more than fifty Suffolk County Girl Scouts at an unveiling ceremony for the new Suffolk County Sheriff’s Girl Scout Patch at the Open House and Family Day on Sunday, September 17th at the Yaphank Jail.  The unveiling ceremony will take place at 12:00 p.m. as part of the New York State Sheriff’s Week celebration.

Girl Scouts who visit the Sheriff’s Open House and Family Day event will be given a special card that will guide them through various exhibits at the event designed to teach them about the many facets of the Sheriff’s Office.  After they engage with staff and learn about the Sheriff’s Office, attendees will be among the first participants to earn the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office Girl Scout Patch.  Suffolk County Girl Scouts that can’t attend will have other opportunities to earn the Patch through the scouting organization.
