Hauppauge, NY – After a thorough review of rate 285 meter readings of government owned and leased buildings and locations, Comptroller John M. Kennedy, Jr. along with members of the Suffolk County Department of Public Works have recognized 13 sites that qualify for a rate change to rate 281. This rate change will achieve lower electric bills for the County in the year 2016 and beyond and PSEG was instructed to implement the changes.

Kennedy, Jr. appeared before the LIPA Board of Trustees meeting today to strongly urge the Board to reject the Department of Public Service recommendations and suspend the review proceedings at this time, to allow for further examination of these impacts to the general public.
