Ronkonkoma, NY --Suffolk County Sheriff Vincent F. DeMarco today announced the launch of his new weekly radio segment to be broadcast on LI News Radio. The station, which is owned by JVC Broadcasting, will offer 24-hour all-talk radio, and Sheriff DeMarco hopes to use the forum to inform Long Islanders about topics ranging from how to safeguard personal information from identity thieves to how to react if ever confronted with a violent crime.

Sheriff DeMarco stated, “I’m thrilled to be a part of the LI News Radio line up.  I look forward to presenting current and relevant information to my listeners each week, and to educating the public about important law enforcement topics.  I’m also interested in receiving feedback from the public, and to covering subjects that will enhance communication between the Sheriff’s Office, local law enforcement and the people we serve.”

In his first broadcast, Sheriff DeMarco discusses how personal cell phones can unknowingly provide a wealth of information to thieves and those with criminal motives.

“We are very excited to welcome Sheriff DeMarco to the airwaves on 103.9 LI News Radio.  It's a great opportunity for the residents of Suffolk County to gain some useful advice, and get to know their Sheriff,” stated Matthew Goldapper, the station’s General Manager.

Sheriff DeMarco’s weekly segment will begin airing the week of December 26th, which is also the date the station will kick off its new talk radio format.
