DEPUTY DAWG'S NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE Last evening, SuffolkCounty Deputy Sheriff Robert Etheridge successfully rescued a beagle that had wandered onto the Long Island Expressway at Exit 65.  Though the dog was struck, Deputy Etheridge’s quick action saved the dog.  Following treatment at a SeldenEmergencyVeterinaryHospital, the dog was transferred to the Brookhaven Animal Shelter.  The owner, or anyone interested in adoption, should contact the Brookhaven Animal Shelter at (631) 286-4940.
