Marine Patrol Section

The objective of the Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol Section is to provide maritime law enforcement and search/rescue services along the 348 miles of eastern Suffolk County shoreline. The Marine Patrol Section is tasked with enforcement of the maritime navigation laws, promoting boating safety, and assisting boaters in distress.

The Sheriff's Office is also a member of the East End Marine Task Force.  The Task Force is a collaborative law enforcement initiative made up of eighteen policing agencies from the five East End towns, the U.S. Coast Guard, the five East End villages, the State Park Police and the N.Y.S. DEC.
