Valid Proof for Insurance Violation Tickets
- An ORIGINAL typed letter from the home office of your insurance company (not broker or agent) on their letterhead is required. The letter must state the coverage period and the coverage was in "FULL FORCE WITHOUT LAPSE" on the date of the violation. It must also state the plate number, the description of the vehicle, including VIN#, your motorist ID# and the Ticket Number. No insurance cards, policies, photocopies, or faxes will be accepted as proof of insurance.
- Include a copy of the registration for the vehicle.
- You are required to include a $50 Driver Responsibility Fee by certified check or money order payable to SCTPVA along with your documentation to cover the processing cost of the dismissal. Your check or money order will be returned if the dismissal is not granted.
- All documents must be received (at SCTPVA) on or prior to the return date on the ticket.
