COVID-19 CASE UPDATE - April 3, 2021, 3:30 p.m.

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on April 3, 2021. Last updated April 2, 2021.

COVID-19 Vaccine Information - As of April 3, 2021 

  • 482,158 people have received at least one vaccine dose, an increase of 10,662
  • 32.6% of the total population of 1,481,093 has received at least one dose
  • 274,808 people have completed their vaccine series, an increase of 6,516
  • 18.6 percent of the total population of 1,481,093 has completed their vaccine series
  • Demographics can be found on the NYSDOH vaccine tracker
  • 828,000 was the weekly allocation of COVID-19 vaccine first doses fully delivered to New York providers during the week 3/22-3/28

COVID-19 Viral Testing- On April 2, 2021:

  • 18,397 COVID-19 tests were administered
  • 3,431,426 total tests have been administered since March 2020
  • 733 new cases were reported
  • 184,645  total cases have been reported since March 2020
  • 5.4% of those tested since March have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 4.0% tested positive in Suffolk County yesterday; 4.6% positive on a 7-day average
  • 3.8% tested positive on Long Island yesterday; 4.5% positive on a 7-day average

Antibody Testing Suffolk County

  • 45,955 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies
  • 359,260 total were tested for antibodies

Fatalities, Suffolk County

  • 4  fatalities
  • 3,263 total fatalities

Hospitalization, Suffolk County, data from April 2, 2021

  • 361 individuals were hospitalized, an increase of 12 in 24 hours
  • 37 were new admissions
  • 81 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), an increase of 2 in 24 hours
  • 44 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 21 were discharged since the last report
  • 13,230 have been discharged since March 22,2020

Hospital Capacity, Suffolk County

  • 3,150 hospital beds, 816 available, 26%
  • 433 ICU beds, 111 available, 26%
