Covid-19 Case Update October 11, 2021

 Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on October 11, 2021. Last updated October 10, 2021

COVID-19 Vaccine Information

  • 1,068,971people have received at least one vaccine dose, an increase of 386
  • 961,232 people have completed their vaccine series, an increase of 717
  • 72.2% of the total population of 1,481,093 has received at least one dose
  • 85.9% of the population ages 18+ has received at least one dose
  • 64.9% percent of the total population has completed the vaccine series
  • 77.8% of the population ages 18+ has completed the vaccine series, as of October 8, 2021
  • 75.5% of the population ages 12+ has completed the vaccine series, as of October 8, 2021

  • Vaccination rates by zip code
  • Walk-in vaccination clinics are offering vaccine to residents who are age 12 and older. No appointment is needed. Medical practitioners and EMS are on-site at all times to answer questions and tend to concerns. Click here for locations and times and parental consent forms.   • If you are confined to your home and wish to receive your COVID-19 vaccination, call 311. We will take your name and you will be called to schedule your free vaccination at home.

COVID-19 Case Tracker- On October 10, 2021

  • 12,266 COVID-19 tests were administered
  • 5,319,683  total tests have been administered since March 2020
  • 349 new cases were reported
  • 235,833  total cases have been reported since March 2020
  • 4.4% of those tested since March 2021 have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 2.8% tested positive in Suffolk County; 3.2% positive on a 7-day average
  • 2.4% tested positive on Long Island; 2.7% positive on a 7-day average
  • COVID Antibodies: 86,091 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies; 413,243 total were tested for antibodies

Fatalities, Suffolk County

  • 3  fatalities
  • 3,570  total fatalities since March 2020

Hospitalization, Suffolk County, data is from October 10, 2021

  • 165 individuals were hospitalized, an  increase of 1  in 24 hours
  • 15 were new admissions
  • 36 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) no change  in 24 hours
  • 24 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 23 were discharged since the last report
  • 16,584 have been discharged since March 22, 2020

Hospital Capacity, Suffolk County

  • 3,101 hospital beds, 687  available, 22%
  • 402 ICU beds, 117 available, 29%
