The Suffolk County Department of Parks has established a List of Approved Food Service Provider List. The Parks Department requires that all individuals and organizations that wish to have an event catered within a facility operated by Suffolk County Parks must use a food service provider approved by the Department and placed on its “Approved Food Service/ Caterer Provider List”. This list is provided to all who enter into permits to use our parks and historical buildings and wish to provide food. The Department starts picnic site reservations in January and we have found most park patrons book their food provider before June.

The requirements to become eligible for the “Approved Food Service/Caterer Provider” program are:

  • Flat fee of $750.00 includes advertising on our website
  • Proof of required current Suffolk County Health Department permits and Food Handler certificates.
  • Required County Form SCEX 22- Contractor’s/Vendor’s Public Disclosure Statement
  • County specified insurance coverage as outlined in Permit Agreement.
  • Two (2) signed and dated Parks Department *Food Service/Caterer Provider Permit Agreements

Applicants are also required to provide a complete menu of items offered (with prices) and a “resume” or description of company background. If you currently have a liquor license and would be interested in providing that service off premises, please indicate that with your reply and you will be sent the additional forms with your packet. *Please note, an additional $2,000,000 liquor liability insurance certificate is required, and you must also file a NYS Liquor Authority Special Event Permit application.

Completed packets with original signatures should be mailed to: Parks Department Contracts Office, P.O. Box 144, Montauk Highway, West Sayville, New York 11796. Applicants will be notified promptly of permit approval or if additional information is required.

Remember most groups book their events before June, so it is to your advantage to be on the list by mid-March.
