Hauppauge, NY – After a thorough review of rate 285 meter readings of government owned and leased buildings and locations, Comptroller John M. Kennedy, Jr. along with members of the Suffolk County Department of Public Works have recognized 13 sites that qualify for a rate change to rate 281. This rate change will achieve lower electric bills for the County in the year 2016 and beyond and PSEG was instructed to implement the changes.

Kennedy, Jr. - for the 32nd consecutive year - by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its 2014 Annual Financial Statements. October 19, 2015 - Suffolk County Comptroller John M. Kennedy, Jr. appeared before the LIPA Board of Trustees meeting today to strongly urge the Board to reject the Department of Public Service recommendations and suspend the review proceedings at this time, to allow for further examination of these impacts to the general public.

Suffolk County Legislature Presiding Officer DuWayne Gregory and the League of Women Voters of Suffolk County on Oct. 8 hosted 27 high school students from Hauppauge High School, Commack High School, Smithtown High School East, Huntington High School and North Babylon High School for a Student Day at the William H. Rogers Legislature Building in Hauppauge.
