Suffolk County Offers Free Rabies Vaccination Clinic

The Suffolk County Department of Health Services (SCDHS), the Town of Huntington and the Suffolk County SPCA will offer free rabies vaccinations for dogs, cats and ferrets.

Suffolk Proclaims April as Sarcoidosis Awareness Month

Sarcoidosis is an inflammatory disease that can affect any organ of the body. It appears most often in the lungs and the eyes, and sometimes the heart. It can show itself through a wide variety of symptoms, including swollen glands, sores, shortness of  breath, chronic fever, fatigue, and weight loss. 

Suffolk County Releases Tick and Vector-Borne Diseases Task-Force Report

Suffolk County has released a report on tick- and mosquito-borne diseases in Suffolk County. The report, produced by the Suffolk County Tick and Vector-Borne Diseases Task Force (TVBDTF), provides an overview of the diseases transmitted by ticks and mosquitoes and outlines a needs assessment for approaching vector-borne diseases.
