Tanner Park Beach Reopens

UPDATE: The beach closure for Tanner Park Beach in Copiague was lifted on
Sunday, August 23, 2015, as results of recent samples collected show the water quality to be within acceptable levels.

Pesticide application scheduled for Oak Beach and Fire Island

If weather permits, the Suffolk County Department of Public Works will treat sections of Oak Beach and Fire Island communities as part of its ongoing effort to control adult mosquitoes.

Great Pond at Peconic Dunes Camp in Peconic is closed due to the finding of bacteria at levels that exceed New York State standards. This is the second time this month the camp beach has been closed due to high levels of bacteria.
