The following links provide general BMPs for each of the listed industries. Each facility will inevitably have special considerations to make when implementing a BMP program. Proper planning is important for the success of these practices.
Some BMPs are easily implemented, while others may require a considerable monetary or staff investment. Any contributions you make toward minimizing stormwater runoff at your site are contributions to Suffolk County’s overall surface water quality, which not only improves the quality of life of Long Islanders, but improves the tourist industry, fishing and shellfishing industries, and aquatic wildlife habitat.
