At one time or another either directly or indirectly, every resident of Suffolk County deals with our office. So if you are buying a home, satisfying your mortgage, filing a lien or judgment, grieving your taxes or interacting with the judicial system, we look forward to working with you.
April 13, 2020
On April 8, 2020 the Chief Administrative Judge for the New York State Courts, Lawrence K. Marks, issued Administrative Order 85-20, copy attached. The Order provides for the conferencing of pending nonessential matters. Cases scheduled for these conferences will be upon initiative of the Court and, where appropriate, at the request of counsel.
In order to facilitate this process, emails have been created for each Judicial Part. Listed below are emails for all of the Supreme Court, County Court (Superior Criminal) and Surrogate Judicial Parts. These Part emails may be utilized by the bar to request a conference with the Court. The attorney on the other side should also be copied on this request for a conference. Part emails for Family Court and District Court will be provided later in the week. The decision whether to grant a request for conference on a matter is within the direction of the Court.
The manner of conducting a conference is left to the discretion of the individual Judge. These conferences will be conducted via Skype and via telephone. As Part of this process, the Court may also be requesting that counsel set up a call in number for a conference call on a specific date and time. Please be advised that individual Parts may have additional requirements to comply with in requesting a conference.
We look forward to continuing to work with all of you as we expand our virtual operations. I would again like to thank everyone in the legal community for their cooperation during this difficult period of time. I would also like to extend my thanks and appreciation to all of the Judges in Suffolk County and our incredible non judicial team for everything that they have done during this crisis. It is my hope that you and your family are able to stay safe and healthy.
Sincerely,
C. Randall Hinrichs District Administrative Judge
