May 1, 2022 - Comptroller Kennedy and his wife, Legislator Leslie Kennedy at the Long Island ABATE Ride with Chris Beckhans, Chapter Director and others. This was the 13th annual ride to promote motorcycle awareness and safety in our community. ABATE also raises money to support Veterans and important advocacy work.
April 24, 2022 - Smithtown Town Clerk Vincent Puleo, Legislator Leslie Kennedy, Comptroller John M. Kennedy, Jr. and Assemblyman Michael J. Fitzpatrick joined the Royal Rangers of Outpost 149 to celebrate four recipients of the Gold Medal of Achievement. This is the highest honor a Royal Ranger can earn after years of participating in rigorous programs, performing community service and meeting all requirements. Congratulations!
On March 22nd, 2022, Comptroller Kennedy attended Jake’s 58 Casino Hotel Press Conference announcing a $10,000 donation to Northwell Health’s Center for Global Health to benefit their Ukraine Relief Fund. This donation will be used to deliver medical supplies to the Ukrainian people. Anthony Pancella III, the President and CEO of Suffolk Regional OTB, and his team have also coordinated additional donations to be collected through the month of April. Jake’s 58 “Donate Your Change” program enables generous patrons to help make a difference for the people of Ukraine.
On March 13, 2022, Boy Scout Troop 7 held an Eagle Court of Honor. Five young men successfully completed volunteer service projects to earn the rank of Eagle Scout. Here they are pictured with NYS Assemblyman Michael J. Fitzpatrick, Suffolk County Legislator Robert Trotta, NYS Senator Mario R. Mattera and Suffolk County Comptroller John M. Kennedy, Jr. Comptroller Kennedy and his fellow government officials celebrated these Scouts’ dedication and acknowledged their achievements by presenting them with proclamations.

When Suffolk County Comptroller John Kennedy spoke at a rally against the Long Island Power Authority earlier this week, the Republican candidate for county executive made a point others have not raised: if LIPA wins its legal challenge to the property taxes on the Northport Power Plant, the Town of Huntington will have to pay the refund owed in the long run, but the county is required to advance the money.
