(SUFFOLK COUNTY, N.Y.) – Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney announced that defendant Paris Fyall, 37, of Medford, was sentenced today to 25 years to life in prison for repeatedly sexually abusing a child over a four-and-a-half-month period.
“Today this defendant will bear the consequences for what he did to an innocent child,” said District Attorney Tierney. “I hope that this sentence will provide a measure of closure and security to the victim, while also ensuring that no other children will be victimized by this defendant ever again.”
On December 14, 2022, Fyall was convicted after a jury trial held before County Court Judge, the Honorable Karen M. Wilutis, of Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the First Degree, a Class B violent felony, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class A misdemeanor. He was represented by Christopher Brocato, Esq.
The evidence presented during the trial showed Fyall, who was already a Level 3 Sex Offender stemming from a 2004 conviction for Attempted Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the First Degree, repeatedly sexually abusing the victim over a period of four-and-a-half months while the victim was between the ages of 10 and 11. The abuse took place while the victim’s mother was at work, and while her sister was in another room.
At the time of this crime, Fyall was out on parole following a 2010 conviction for Robbery in the First Degree, a Class B violent felony. As part of his parole conditions, Fyall was required to wear a GPS monitor. Prosecutors and law enforcement were able to gather evidence from the GPS monitor which placed him at the location of the sexual abuse at the alleged time it occurred.
This case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Dana Castaldo and Zachary Kelly of the Child Abuse and Domestic Violence Bureau.
