(SUFFOLK COUNTY, N.Y.) – Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney today announced the indictment of Wilson Felipe Andrade-Molina, 37, of Brentwood, who is accused of fatally stabbing his cousin, and then going to his cousin’s girlfriend’s Brentwood home and nearly stabbing her to death in front of her son.
“This was a blood relative who allegedly was out for blood, and unfortunately for one of the victims, he succeeded,” said District Attorney Tierney. “This was a senseless, brutal and very violent crime. We will seek justice for the victims.”
According to the investigation, on March 30, 2023, Andrade-Molina allegedly fatally stabbed his cousin, Miguel Andrade-Cando, 38, of Brentwood, at their place of employment. Andrade-Molina and his cousin worked together as machinists for Electronic Machine Parts in Hauppauge. Surveillance footage obtained by investigators shows Andrade-Molina arrived at the business at approximately 7:22 a.m. prior to his cousin, and within mere minutes of the victim’s arrival, Andrade-Molina fatally stabbed his cousin in the neck. The owner of the business discovered Andrade-Cando on the floor inside the factory lying in a pool of blood.
Andrade-Molina then allegedly went to his now deceased cousin’s home in Brentwood, and shortly before 8:00 a.m., near fatally stabbed his cousin’s girlfriend, Santa Pena, 46, inside of her home. Pena’s 21-year-old son, who was sleeping at the time, awakened to the screams of his mother. When he tried to go to her aid, Andrade-Molina advanced towards him with the knife. Before fleeing the home, Andrade-Molina returned to Pena and continued to stab her as she was lying on the floor. Andrade-Molina fled in vehicle to Bay Shore where police later located and arrested him. No motive has been disclosed for the stabbings.
Pena suffered life-threatening injuries including a lacerated liver, punctures to her diaphragm and both lungs, and lacerations to her arm, shoulder, breast, and torso. Pena is currently in the intensive care unit in a local hospital after having undergone lifesaving surgery.
On April 12, 2023, Andrade-Molina was arraigned on the indictment before Supreme Court Justice, the Honorable Timothy P. Mazzei, for the charges of Murder in the Second Degree, a Class A felony, Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, a Class B felony, and Assault in the First Degree, a Class B felony. Judge Mazzei ordered Wilson-Andrade to be continued to be held without bail. His next court date is May 11, 2023. Wilson-Andrade is being represented by Steve Politi, Esq.
This case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Elena Tomaro and Dena Rizopoulos of the Homicide Bureau.
