CENTRAL ISLIP MAN CONVICTED FOR POSSESSING COCAINE WITH INTENT TO SELL AT HIS HOME

(SUFFOLK COUNTY, N.Y.) – Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney today announced that Sean Mohan was found guilty after trial on charges that stemmed from the execution of a search warrant at his residence in 2021.

“This defendant chose to possess illegal and dangerous drugs with the intent to sell them in his community,” said Tierney. “Now thanks to the hard work of the Suffolk County Police Department and the Narcotics Bureau of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, this defendant can no longer endanger the community and he will be held responsible for his actions.”  

Yesterday, after a two-week long trial, the jury found Mohan, 49, guilty of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Narcotic Drug with the Intent to Sell It, in the Third Degree; and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree. 

The evidence at trial established that on August 6, 2021, members of the Suffolk County Police Department executed a court-authorized search warrant for narcotics at Mohan’s residence. 

Incident to the execution of the warrant, officers recovered in excess of eight ounces of cocaine from several locations within the home; four digital scales; four cell phones; a drug ledger; and over $1,100 in U.S. currency. 

Previously in 2004, Mohan was convicted of the felony offense of Attempted Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree in Suffolk County Court.

The trial was heard before the Honorable Anthony Senft.  Mohan is represented by Toni Marie Angeli, Esq. He is due back in court for sentencing on January 30, 2023.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Saam Jalayer of the Narcotics Bureau.
