Latique Johnson, also known as “La Brim,” and alleged national leader of the Bloodhound Brim gang, was extradited from federal prison in California and brought to Suffolk County, and on April 25, 2024, he was arraigned on the indictment before Acting Supreme Court Justice Anthony S. Senft, Jr. for Conspiracy in the Second Degree (Murder in the Second Degree), Conspiracy in the Fourth Degree (Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree) and Conspiracy in the Fourth Degree (Robbery in the First Degree), for allegedly directing Bloodhound Brim gang operations while incarcerated in federal prison.
Justice Senft ordered Johnson held on $5 million cash, $10 million bond, or $50 million partially secured bond during the pendency of the case. Johnson is currently serving a 30-year federal prison sentence for a 2019 conviction for Racketeering and other related offenses. If convicted of the current charges he faces in Suffolk County, Johnson faces up to life in prison. Johnson is due back in court on May 16, 2024, and he is being represented by Jason Bassett, Esq.
