The Suffolk County Board of Ethics oversees the “conflict of interest” laws for Suffolk County employees as well as the “financial disclosure” laws, which apply to certain County officials (Part 1 of Chapter 77 of the Suffolk County Code). The Suffolk County Board of Ethics was established pursuant to Local Law No. 56-2011, which became effective in March 2012. The Board was fully formed in the summer of 2012 and has established its office in Riverhead.
