Gregory, League of Women Voters Host Student Day

Suffolk County Legislature Presiding Officer DuWayne Gregory and the League of Women Voters of Suffolk County on Oct. 8 hosted 27 high school students from Hauppauge High School, Commack High School, Smithtown High School East, Huntington High School and North Babylon High School for a Student Day at the William H. Rogers Legislature Building in Hauppauge.

Kennedy, Jr. enjoyed both the food and company as he joined Mastic Beach Mayor Maura Spery and Legislator Leslie Kennedy at the 12th annual Blue Claw Crab Festival in Mastic. Hotel/Motel Tax Audit Reveals Suffolk County Treasurer's Office Unable to Enforce Full Compliance

Comptroller John M. Kennedy, Jr. announced today in an audit report for the period January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2013, that the Suffolk County Treasurer's Office does not have adequate staff to sufficiently monitor the hospitality industry and enforce the Hotel/Motel Tax law to ensure compliance and maximize tax revenues.
