Popular activities within the Suffolk County Parks System include golfing, camping, horseback riding, swimming, hiking, fishing, outer beach (shoreline) activities, boating, or visiting one of our historic sites such as the Big Duck, an all-time favorite.
While the large dog park at West Hills County Park is closed, the Parks Department will temporarily allow large dogs at the small dark park area from the hours of 9:00 am – 11:30 am daily. The small dog park is located at the park entrance off of High Hold Drive in Huntington.
The campground at Smith Point will be closed beginning on November 1, 2016 as we host the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County's Holiday Light Show. In lieu of Smith Point, the Parks Department will be offering camping 7 nights per week at Indian Island Campground in Riverhead.
