Opioid Overdose Training Program

Learn how to recognize and prevent a fatal overdose - A free event

Location: Huntington Community First Aid Squad
2 Railroad St. Huntington Station (Parking is available next door at the LIRR commuter parking lot)

Date: Sunday, June 2nd

Time: 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm

Presentation given by Dr. Gregson Pigott, EMS Medical Director and Clinical Director of the       Opioid Overdose Prevention Program.  Participants who attend can expect to learn:

  • Signs and symptoms of an opioid overdose
  • Steps on how to respond to an overdose and how to administer naloxone

The training includes administration of intranasal Narcan, and steps to take until EMS arrives. Participants will receive a free emergency resuscitation kit that includes Narcan.
