NEWLY ELECTED CHAIR:

Rev.   TINA PAMELA NORTON

It is with pleasure that we announce the Newly Elected Chair of the Suffolk County Women’s Advisory Commission, Tina Pamela Norton, has been with the Women’s Advisory as Vice–Chair for three years and has served on many committees in the past.

Reverend Tina Pamela Norton is an ordained minister who sensed  that she would one day work in some sort of capacity serving women. Growing up in Harlem, NY, she was often referred to as a unique child being extremely sensitive to the plight of mankind.

Mrs. Norton is a much sought after style of teaching that has opened doors for her both nationally and internationally. She lectures women’s groups in varied seminar and conference forums: in addiction to radio and television. She is the author of three books: the first entitled Always A Lady, My Sensational Me a Curriculum for Young Ladies, and her latest release Vanilla Now and Later. She is currently working on two unreleased publications Purity STILL Matters and Meant for Me.

Mrs. Norton is the proud recipient of the 6th Congressional District Community Service Recognition Award. In addition to this, Mrs. Norton is the founder of the Little Ladies Network, which is an organization designed to empower young girls and teens for success by equipping them with life, social and etiquette skills that foster positive self-image and esteem via the “My Sensational Me” mentoring program, an umbrella program under the Little Ladies Network. Its expanded version is an evidence based curricula which includes the “Sensational Me Science and Soul Series” which debuted in April 2012 in partnership with The March of Dimes Foundation and has become their “Signature Program”.

Part of her new responsibilities will be to determine how Suffolk County Women’s Advisory Commission can help identify the needs of the Suffolk female population. We are pleased that Mrs. Norton has accepted this appointment and know she will represent the Women’s Advisory well and will contribute much to the female community.
