The Suffolk County Board of Ethics oversees the “conflict of interest” laws for Suffolk County employees as well as the “financial disclosure” laws, which apply to certain County officials (Part 1 of Chapter 77 of the Suffolk County Code). Under these County laws, the Board has the authority and responsibility to, among other things:

Pursuant to the Citizens Participation Act, all interested persons are invited to submit testimony, either orally or in writing, at the meeting.
The meeting will be also recorded and later transcribed in accordance with the requirements of the Governor’s Executive Order.

The Suffolk County Board of Ethics was established pursuant to Local Law No. 56-2011, which became effective in March 2012. The Board was fully formed in the summer of 2012 and has established its office in Riverhead.
