Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 through 3:30 p.m. on May 8, 2020:
Testing
- 109,112 COVID-19 tests have been administered, an addition of 2,357 tests since May 7
- 33.2 percent of those tested were confirmed positive for COVID-19
- 32,481 antibody tests have been administered through May 7
Cases
- 36,522 persons tested positive for COVID-19; an additional 264 cases since May 7
- 3,961 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for COVID-19 antibodies; 430 additional cases since May 7.
- 40,483 total positive COVID-19 cases and antibody cases, up 694 from May 7.

Hospitalization

- 1,568 individuals have died**

**This increase in fatalities this week reflects data reported on May 6 by New York State in addition to confirmed fatalities within nursing homes and adult-care facilities that were identified as part of the reconciliation process.
