Covid-19 Case Update April 29, 2021 4:30pm

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on April 29, 2021. Last updated April 28, 2021

COVID-19 Vaccine Information - As of April 29, 2021  

  •         670,665 people have received at least one vaccine dose, an increase of 8,678
  •         45.3% of the total population of 1,481,093 has received at least one dose
  •         482,642 people have completed their vaccine series, an increase of 12,561
  •         32.5% percent of the total population of 1,481,093 have completed their vaccine series
  •         Demographics can be found on the NYSDOH vaccine tracker
  •         738,340 was the weekly allocation of COVID-19 vaccine first doses fully delivered to New York providers during the week 4/19-4/25

COVID-19 Viral Testing- On April 28, 2021

  • 15,628  COVID-19 tests were administered
  • 3,806,992 total tests have been administered since March 2020
  • 271 new cases were reported
  • 196,806  total cases have been reported since March 2020
  • 5.2% of those tested since March 2021 have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 1.7% tested positive in Suffolk County yesterday; 2.2% positive on a 7-day average
  • 1.8% tested positive on Long Island yesterday; 2.1% positive on a 7-day average

Antibody Testing Suffolk County

  • 50,646 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies
  • 368,049 total were tested for antibodies

Fatalities, Suffolk County

  • 6 fatalities
  • 3,347 total fatalities

Hospitalization, Suffolk County, data is from April 28, 2021

  • 217 individuals were hospitalized, a decrease of 11 in 24 hours
  • 20  were new admissions
  • 58 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a decrease of 1 in 24 hours
  • 35 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 27 were discharged since the last report
  • 14,092 have been discharged since March 22,2020
