Promotes discounted and free foods at
Southampton market
Suffolk
County officials will join representatives from Island Harvest, Sustainable
Long Island, and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County for a “kick off “ event for Suffolk County’s Healthy
Corner Store Project, a project which encourages local businesses to distribute
and promote fresh, healthful foods to residents who live in communities that
lack access to affordable options.
The event
will feature discounts on 1 percent and skim milk, new outdoor signage
promoting healthy food choices, samples of healthy foods and other giveaways.
