AGENDA

Overview of general activity of the Patient Advocate Unit.

There will be a presentation by Ms. Betty Eberhardt, Assistant Vice President, Community Impact with United Way of Long Island. Betty has worked with United Way of Long Island for 43 years and is responsible for managing several of United Way’s Community Impact programs including the 2-1-1 Long Island information and referral project. 2-1-1 Long Island is a free and confidential resource that provides crucial information to Long Islanders in need of assistance 24/7. The call center is staffed by trained information specialists. Additionally, Betty manages the Mission United services for veterans and the Federal Emergency Food & Shelter Program for emergency aid, and oversees United Way’s Vetsbuild job training project, the Everyone Rides Nice transportation project, and the Opportunity Youth Career Exploration & Access Program. Betty professionally serves on Long Island VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) and on the Board of NYS Alliance of Information and Referral Systems. Betty will share her insights and knowledge of these programs and how they can best be utilized to service the vulnerable population in Suffolk County.
