COVID-19 CASE UPDATE - May 2, 2020, 2:30 p.m.

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 through 2:30 p.m. on May 2, 2020

--96,228 COVID-19 tests have been administered, an addition of 2,660 tests since May 1
--35.8 percent of those tested were confirmed positive for COVID-19
--36,085  confirmed cases, up 805 from May 1. Note: confirmed case number now includes positive antibody tests

Anti-body tests through Friday, May 1:

  • Total number of antibody test results = 8,457
  • Total number of positive antibody test results = 1,789
  • Total number of positive antibody test (without a previous positive COVID-19 test) = 1,164

--851 patients are hospitalized, a decrease of 52 from May 1 (This marks 12 consecutive days of decline.)   
--327 of hospitalized patients are in the intensive care unit (ICU), an increase of 3 patients from May 1
--1,227 individuals have died
--24 deaths have been reported since May 1
--3,287 hospital beds; 676 ICU beds
--112 additional patients were discharged from the hospital in the past 24 hours.

* The number of cases on the Suffolk COVID-19 map designated as “Township Not Known” represents individuals whose addresses were not immediately available.
