COVID-19 CASE UPDATE - May 4, 2020, 2:30 p.m.

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 through 2:30 p.m. on May 4, 2020:

  • 100,389 COVID-19 tests have been administered, an addition of 1640 tests since May 3
  • 34.9 percent of those tested were confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 37,537 confirmed cases, up 563 from May 3.*
  • 2,019 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for COVID-19 antibodies, an addition of 326 from May 3
  • Breakdown by town of COVID-19 cases can be found on the Suffolk County COVID-19 Map**
  • 817 patients are hospitalized, an increase of 4 from May 3
  • 317 of hospitalized patients are in the intensive care unit (ICU), a decrease of 7 patients from May 3
  • 1,276 individuals have died
  • 17 deaths have been reported since May 3
  • 3,207 hospital beds; 651 ICU beds
  • 33 additional patients were discharged from the hospital in the past 24 hours.

* As of May 2, confirmed cases include positive antibody tests. 

** The number of cases on the Suffolk COVID-19 map designated as “Township Not Known” represents individuals whose addresses were not immediately available.
