COVID-19 CASE UPDATE - May 19, 2020, 500 p.m.

 

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on May 19, 2020

 

Testing

  • 136,761 COVID-19 tests have been administered, an addition of 2,118 tests*
  • 28.0 percent of those tested were confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 80,281 total tested for antibodies

Tested Positive for COVID-19

  • 38,327 total
  • 103 new cases

Tested Positive for Antibodies

  • 10,345 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies

Hospitalization,* May 17

  • 497 individuals were hospitalized, a decrease of 8
  • ​164 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a decrease of 7
  • 21 new admissions
  • 30 discharged 
  • 4,565 total discharged since March 22

Hospitalization,* May 18

  • 490 individuals were hospitalized, a decrease of 15
  • ​158 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a decrease of 6
  • 32 new admissions
  • 20 discharged 
  • 4,597 total discharged since March 22

Fatalities

  • 18 new fatalities
  • 1,772 total fatalities

  • 2,948 total hospital beds; 901 available*
  • 574 ICU beds; 208 available*
