COVID-19 CASE UPDATE - May 22, 2020, 2:30 p.m.

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on May 22, 2020 

Testing

  • 145,822 COVID-19 tests have been administered, an addition of 3,022 tests*
  • 26.5 percent of those tested were confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 93,161 total tested for antibodies

Tested Positive for COVID-19

  • 38,672 total
  • 119 new cases

Tested Positive for Antibodies

  • 12,013 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies

Hospitalization,* May 20

  • 425 individuals were hospitalized, a decrease of 28
  • 131 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), an increase of 2
  • 17 new admissions
  • 58 discharged

Hospitalization,* May 21

  • 409 individuals were hospitalized, a decrease of 16
  • 125 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a decrease of 6
  • 23 new admissions
  • 43 discharged

Fatalities

  • 12 new fatalities
  • 1,814 total fatalities

Hospital Beds, May 20

  •  2,937 total hospital beds; 886 available*
  • 547 ICU beds; 192 available*

Hospital Beds, May 21

  • 3035 total hospital beds; 993 available*
  • 547 ICU beds; 212 available*
