COVID-19 CASE UPDATE - May 24, 2020, 5:30 p.m.

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on May 24, 2020 

Testing

  • 153,692 COVID-19 tests have been administered, an addition of 3,865 tests*
  • 25.4 percent of those tested were confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 102,092 total tested for antibodies 

Tested Positive for COVID-19

  • 38,964 total
  • 162 new cases

Tested Positive for Antibodies

  • 12,272 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies 

Hospitalization,* May 22

  • 343 individuals were hospitalized, a decrease of 31
  • 111 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a decrease of 8
  • 18 new admissions
  • 38 discharged

Fatalities

  • 12 new fatalities
  • 1,834 total fatalities

Hospital Beds

  • 3017 total hospital beds; 1095 available*
  • 595 ICU beds; 231 available*
