COVID-19 CASE UPDATE - May 28, 2020, 5 p.m.

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on May 28, 2020 

Testing

  • 167,917 COVID-19 tests have been administered, an addition of 4,482 tests*
  • 23.4 percent of those tested were confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 107,862 total tested for antibodies

Tested Positive for COVID-19

  • 39,359 total
  • 101 new cases

Tested Positive for Antibodies

  • 12,956 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies

Hospitalization,* as of May 28 at 5 p.m.

  • 291 individuals were hospitalized, a decrease of 10
  • 85 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a decrease of 7
  • 17 new admissions
  • 26 discharged
  • 4,880 since March 22

Fatalities

  • 10 new fatalities*
  • 1,871 total fatalities

Hospital Beds, as of May 28 at 5 p.m.

  • 3087 total hospital beds; 1000 available*
  • 595 ICU beds; 231 available*
