COVID-19 UPDATE - June 9, 2020, 5:00 p.m.

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on June 9, 2020. Last updated June 8, 2020 

Testing

  • 224,931 COVID-19 tests have been administered, an addition of 4,098 tests*
  • 18.0 percent of those tested were confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 132,664 total tested for antibodies

Tested Positive for COVID-19

  • 40,426 total cases
  • 49 new cases

Tested Positive for Antibodies

  • 15,856 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies

Hospitalization* updated June 9 at 4:30 p.m.

  • 165 individuals were hospitalized, an increase of 10
  • 46 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a decrease of 1
  • 12 new admissions
  • 5 discharged
  • 5,119 discharged since March 22

Fatalities

  • 4 new fatality*
  • 1,939 total fatalities

  • 3036 total hospital beds; 1075 available
  • 576 ICU beds; 256 available*
