COVID-19 CASE UPDATE - December 4, 2020, 6:00 p.m.

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on December 4, 2020. Last updated December 3, 2020

Data is from December 3:

COVID-19 Testing

  • 1,510,646 COVID-19 tests were administered, an addition of 18,146 tests 
  • 1,171 new cases were reported
  • 64,929 total cases
  • 4.3% of those tested since March have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 5.9% tested positive on Long Island yesterday; 4.9% positive on a 7-day average
  • 6.5% tested positive in Suffolk County yesterday; 5.4% positive on a 7-day average

Antibody Testing

  • 31,284  individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 tested positive for antibodies
  • 298,685 in total have beentested for antibodies

Fatalities

  • 2 fatalities
  • 2,064 total fatalities

COVID-19 Hospitalizations  data from December 3, 2020

  • 337 individuals were hospitalized, an increase of  27 in 24 hours
  • 45 were new admissions
  • 56 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), no change in 24 hours
  • 26 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 20 were discharged since the last report
  • 6,506 have been discharged since March 22

Hospital Capacity

  • 3,001 hospital beds, 609 available, 20 percent
  • 393 ICU beds, 105 available, 27 percent
