Covid-19 Case Update December 29, 2020 4:15pm

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on December 29, 2020. Last updated December 28, 2020

 

Data is from December 28

COVID-19 Testing

  • 13,620 COVID-19 tests were administered
  • 1,910,577 total tests have been administered since March
  • 1,212 new cases were reported
  • 92,391 total cases have been reported since March
  • 4.8% of those tested since March have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 7.8 tested positive on Long Island yesterday; 6.8% positive on a 7-day average
  • 8.9% tested positive in Suffolk County yesterday; 7.6% positive on a 7-day average

Antibody Testing

  • 32,389 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 tested positive for antibodies
  • 308,713 in total have been tested for antibodies

Fatalities

  • 12 fatalities
  • 2,274 total fatalities

COVID-19 Hospitalizations data from December 28, 2020

  • 694 individuals were hospitalized, an increase of 17 in 24 hours
  • 69 were new admissions
  • 101 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a decrease of 3 in 24 hours
  • 55 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 48 were discharged since the last report
  • 7,653 have been discharged since March 22

Hospital Capacity

  • 3,238 hospital beds, 740 available, 23 percent
  • 432 ICU beds, 108 available, 25 percent
