Covid-19 Case Update January 28, 2021 4:50pm

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on January 28, 2021. Last updated January 27, 2020.

COVID-19 Vaccine Information 

As of January 27 at 11 a.m., on Long Island

·        229,520  COVID-19 vaccine doses have been received

·        179,303 doses have been administered, 78%

 

COVID-19 Viral Testing: On January 27:

  •         19,070  COVID-19 tests were administered
  •         2,449,550  total tests have been administered since March
  •         1,301  new cases were reported
  •         140,113 total cases have been reported since March
  •         5.7% of those tested since March have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  •         6.8% tested positive in Suffolk County yesterday; 7.0% positive on a 7-day average
  •       6.7% tested positive on Long Island yesterday; 6.7% positive on a 7-day average

Antibody Testing, Suffolk County

  • 35,509 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies
  • 325,047 total were tested for antibodies

Fatalities, Suffolk County

  • 17 fatalities
  • 2,756 total fatalities

Hospitalization, Suffolk County, data from January 27, 2021

  • 736 individuals were hospitalized, a decrease of 46  in 24 hours
  • 67 were new admissions
  • 141 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), an incease of 14 in 24 hours
  • 89 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 78  were discharged since the last report
  • 10,084 discharged since March 22

Hospital Capacity, Suffolk County

  • 3,217 hospital beds, 707  available, 22%
  • 439 ICU beds, 91 available, 21%
