COVID-19 CASE UPDATE - February 26, 2021, 5:00 p.m.

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on February 26, 2021. Last updated February 25, 2020.

COVID-19 Vaccine Information -  As of February 26 in Suffolk County

  • 197,391 people have received at least one vaccine dose, 13.3% of the total population of 1,481,093
  • 107,630 people have completed their vaccine series
  • Demographics can be found on the NYSDOH vaccine tracker
  • 356,990 was the weekly allocation of COVID-19 vaccine first doses fully delivered to New York providers during the week 2/15 -2/21. (Suffolk County comprises approximately 7.6% of the population of New York State.)

COVID-19 Viral Testing: On February 25:

  • 17,389  COVID-19 tests were administered
  • 2,880,987  total tests have been administered since March
  • 675  new cases were reported
  • 160,967  total cases have been reported since March
  • 5.6% of those tested since March have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 3.9% tested positive in Suffolk County yesterday; 4.0% positive on a 7-day average
  • 3.8% tested positive on Long Island yesterday; 4.1% positive on a 7-day average

Antibody Testing Suffolk County

  • 39,807  individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies
  • 341,555  total were tested for antibodies

Fatalities, Suffolk County

  • 7  fatalities
  • 3,061 total fatalities

Hospitalization, Suffolk County, data from February 25, 2021

  • 458 individuals were hospitalized, a decrease of 3  in 24 hours
  • 60  were new admissions
  • 105  patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a decrease of 3 in 24 hours
  • 71 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 57 were discharged since the last report
  • 11,699  discharged since March 22

Hospital Capacity, Suffolk County

  • 3,178 hospital beds, 830  available, 26%
  • 441 ICU beds, 93  available, 21%
