Covid-19 Case Update March 12, 2021 4pm

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on March 12, 2021. Last updated March 11, 2021.

COVID-19 Vaccine Information -  As of March 12, 2021 

Suffolk County

  •          301,771  people have received at least one vaccine dose, an increase of 9,529
  •          20.4% of the total population of 1,481,093 has received at least one dose
  •          158,538 people have completed their vaccine series, an increase of 5,758

COVID-19 Viral Testing- On March 11, 2021:

  • 18,807 COVID-19 tests were administered
  • 3,090,289  total tests have been administered since March 2020
  • 798 new cases were reported
  • 169,562   total cases have been reported since March 2020
  • 5.5% of those tested since March have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 4.2% tested positive in Suffolk   County yesterday; 4.1% positive on a 7-day average
  • 4.1% tested positive on Long Island yesterday; 4.2% positive on a 7-day average

Antibody Testing Suffolk County

  • 42,092 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies
  • 349,048 total were tested for antibodies

Fatalities, Suffolk County

  • 5 fatalities
  • 3,150 total fatalities

Hospitalization, Suffolk County, data from March 11, 2021

  • 378  individuals were hospitalized, a decrease of 17 in 24 hours
  • 38  were new admissions
  • 71 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), no change in 24 hours
  • 47 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 48 were discharged since the last report
  • 12,286 have been discharged since March 22,2020

Hospital Capacity, Suffolk County

  • 3,156  hospital beds, 736 available, 23%
  • 435 ICU beds, 103 available, 24%
