COVID-19 CASE UPDATE - April 1, 2021, 5:00 p.m.

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on April 1, 2021. Last updated March 31, 2021.

COVID-19 Vaccine Information - As of April 1, 2021 

  •        458,982 people have received at least one vaccine dose, an increase of 11,204
  •        31.0% of the total population of 1,481,093 has received at least one dose
  •        259,310 people have completed their vaccine series, an increase of 6,754
  •        Demographics can be found on the NYSDOH vaccine tracker
  •        828,000 was the weekly allocation of COVID-19 vaccine first doses fully delivered to New York providers during the week 3/22-3/28

COVID-19 Viral Testing- On March 31, 2021:

  • 19,403 COVID-19 tests were administered
  • 3,397,794 total tests have been administered since March 2020
  • 764 new cases were reported
  • 183,206  total cases have been reported since March 2020
  • 5.4% of those tested since March have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 3.9% tested positive in Suffolk County yesterday; 4.5% positive on a 7-day average
  • 4.1% tested positive on Long Island yesterday; 4.4% positive on a 7-day average

Antibody Testing Suffolk County

  • 45,490 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies
  • 358,151 total were tested for antibodies

Fatalities, Suffolk County

  • 7  fatalities
  • 3,257 total fatalities

Hospitalization, Suffolk County, data from March 31, 2021

  • 358 individuals were hospitalized, a decrease of 18 in 24 hours
  • 45 were new admissions
  • 75 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), an increase of 1 in 24 hours
  • 38 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 62 were discharged since the last report
  • 13,146 have been discharged since March 22,2020

Hospital Capacity, Suffolk County

  • 3,147 hospital beds, 678 available, 22%
  • 433 ICU beds, 101 available, 23%
