COVID-19 CASE UPDATE - April 4, 2021, 5:30 p.m.

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on April 4, 2021. Last updated April 3, 2021.

COVID-19 Vaccine Information - As of April 4, 2021 

  • 488,762 people have received at least one vaccine dose, an increase of 6,604
  • 33.0% of the total population of 1,481,093 has received at least one dose
  • 278,568 people have completed their vaccine series, an increase of 3,760
  • 18.8 percent of the total population of 1,481,093 has completed their vaccine series
  • Demographics can be found on the NYSDOH vaccine tracker
  • 819,800 was the weekly allocation of COVID-19 vaccine first doses fully delivered to New York providers during the week 3/29-4/4

COVID-19 Viral Testing- On April 3, 2021:

  • 16,061 COVID-19 tests were administered
  • 3,447,487 total tests have been administered since March 2020
  • 700 new cases were reported
  • 185,345 total cases have been reported since March 2020
  • 5.4% of those tested since March have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 4.4% tested positive in Suffolk County yesterday; 4.5% positive on a 7-day average
  • 4.4% tested positive on Long Island yesterday; 4.4% positive on a 7-day average

Antibody Testing Suffolk County

  • 46,123 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies
  • 359,690 total were tested for antibodies

Fatalities, Suffolk County

  • 7 fatalities
  • 3,270 total fatalities

Hospitalization, Suffolk County, data from April 3, 2021

  • 345 individuals were hospitalized, a decrease of 16 in 24 hours
  • 33 were new admissions
  • 78 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a decrease of 3 in 24 hours
  • 45 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 42 were discharged since the last report
  • 13,272 have been discharged since March 22,2020

Hospital Capacity, Suffolk County

  • 3,132 hospital beds, 936 available, 30%
  • 433 ICU beds, 117 available, 27%
