COVID-19 CASE UPDATE - April 12, 2020, 4:30 p.m.

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on April 12, 2021. Last updated April 11, 2021.

COVID-19 Vaccine Information - As of April 12, 2021 

  •        550,237 people have received at least one vaccine dose, an increase of 5,712
  •        37.2% of the total population of 1,481,093 has received at least one dose
  •        339,586 people have completed their vaccine series, an increase of 7,148
  •        23% percent of the total population of 1,481,093 has completed their vaccine series
  •        Demographics can be found on the NYSDOH vaccine tracker
  •        1,068,455 was the weekly allocation of COVID-19 vaccine first doses fully delivered to New York providers during the week 4/5-4/11

COVID-19 Viral Testing- On April 11, 2021:

  • 9,195 COVID-19 tests were administered
  • 3,572,089 total tests have been administered since March 2020
  • 449  new cases were reported
  • 190,463 total cases have been reported since March 2020
  • 5.3% of those tested since March have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 4.9% tested positive in Suffolk County yesterday; 4.0% positive on a 7-day average
  • 4.6% tested positive on Long Island yesterday; 3.9% positive on a 7-day average

Antibody Testing Suffolk County

  • 47,390 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies
  • 362,426 total were tested for antibodies

Fatalities, Suffolk County

  • 3 fatalities
  • 3,298 total fatalities

Hospitalization, Suffolk County, data from April 11, 2021

  • 301 individuals were hospitalized, a decrease of 15 in 24 hours
  • 23  were new admissions
  • 78 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), no change in 24 hours
  • 52 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 34 were discharged since the last report
  • 13,589 have been discharged since March 22,2020

Hospital Capacity, Suffolk County

  • 3,153 hospital beds, 860 available, 27%
  • 441 ICU beds, 128 available, 29%
