Covid-19 Case Update May 3, 2021 3:30pm

 

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on May 3, 2021. Last updated May 2, 2021

COVID-19 Vaccine Information - As of May 3, 2021  

  •         708,944 people have received at least one vaccine dose, an increase of 3,264
  •         47.9% of the total population of 1,481,093 has received at least one dose
  •         530,333 people have completed their vaccine series, an increase of 4,959
  •         35.8% percent of the total population of 1,481,093 have completed their vaccine series
  •         Demographics can be found on the NYSDOH vaccine tracker
  •         757,005 was the weekly allocation of COVID-19 vaccine first doses fully delivered to New York providers during the week 4/26-5/2

Walk-in vaccination clinics are offering vaccine to residents who are age 16+. No appointment is needed. Medical practitioners and EMS are on-site at all times to answer questions and tend to concerns. Click here for locations and times. COVID-19 Viral Testing- On May 2, 2021

  • 9,535  COVID-19 tests were administered
  • 3,859,044 total tests have been administered since March 2020
  • 172 new cases were reported
  • 197,718  total cases have been reported since March 2020
  • 5.1% of those tested since March 2021 have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 1.8% tested positive in Suffolk County yesterday; 1.9% positive on a 7-day average
  • 1.7% tested positive on Long Island yesterday; 1.8% positive on a 7-day average

Antibody Testing Suffolk County

  • 51,425 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies
  • 369,273 total were tested for antibodies

Fatalities, Suffolk County for May 2, 2021

  •          1 fatality
  • 3,353 total fatalities

Hospitalization, Suffolk County, data is from May 2, 2021

  • 186 individuals were hospitalized, an increase of 8 in 24 hours
  • 15 were new admissions
  • 50 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a decrease of 3 in 24 hours
  • 32 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 6 were discharged since the last report
  • 14,182 have been discharged since March 22,2020

Hospital Capacity, Suffolk County

  • 3,117 hospital beds, 842 available, 27%
  • 433 ICU beds, 140 available, 32%
